545 with M5 Cluster, uncoding.

Hi, I gave a 545i and have just bought a used M5 cluster. Does anybody know how to uncode this cluster and code my VIN number to it so I can have my deaker code it to my car?

Are you sure is the uncoding necessary before the new encoding ?

The simplest way is to buy a new one for ?450 from Germany (as I did) and bring the car to your dealer instead of searching it on eBay etc. saving ?100/150 .

I got mine on Ebay for ?60 so I couldnt let it go. Looks like the only otpion is to ship it to Ascar. Pity though, with the right info Im sure I could recode my VIN to it myself.

i'm doing one next week have found the chip in the 545 cluster that holds the data that can either be soldered into the new board or we will try doing it through using autologic, i'll keep you posted on this. I know andy545 had his done so he maybe able to shed some more light on this
