I see small spots of material peeling off the steering wheel. I think it is where my wife's hands rest when driving. I did a serarch but cannot find a place where I can look for any Technical Service Bulletins or other info on this problem. Thanks for your help.

Is there anyway you could post pictures? Your wife seems to have quite a grip.

i've had it on my car. ended up getting a new steering wheel.

but i've heard of some easier solutions, like covering it with alcantra or carbon fiber etc.

Your 2008?

Never mind technical bulletins ... tell the Dealer SA to replace.

+1

I just had the trim around the steering column and the CD player replaced under warranty because it was pealing.

there is no need to get a new steeling wheel, In HK there are loads of places that can redo the leather on the steering wheel cost about $130us
I will be redoing the Sport steeling wheel with softer leather like the M5 1.

Thank you for all of your replies. I didn't take a pic because the pics just don't show it well...black on black. I will ask the dealer next time I am in there.

Other than the battery running down all the time it has been a great car.
