My Ride: 2008 550I LOADED, all options except HUD and NV
Well, the day came when I finally got a chance to do it:
I painted my grilles gloss black and my window trim gloss black (M5 style) but I'm not done quite yet.
Here's what I did:
1) remove grilles and scuffed with sand paper, painted 2 coats black primer, 3 coats gloss black paint (I ran out of clear coat before I could do my grilles)
2) removed window trim. scuffed with sandpaper, painted 2 coats black primer 3 coats gloss black paint, 3 coats of clear
Still to be done:
color sand all parts again, recoat with 3 coats of clear again (just need to wait at least 7 days as per paint instructions)
In the end I should end up with a pretty good approximation of M5 gloss black trim and gloss black grilles that I always wanted.
