Calling 525d LCI owners
Is this "normal"?
It isn't very noticeable but is there. It doesn't exist at about 1600 rpm and is gone by 1800 rpm.
Is this just a characteristic of this engine or something that needs a visit to the dealer.
Thanks for any help.

Mine seems to have a growl from about 1500rpm to 2100 rpm. It gets quite addictive though. I just thought that this is something that happens to diesels.
I only really notice it as I tend to cruise at an indicated 75mph and this is at 1700 revs (mine is auto box).
It shows up as the car is so quiet at slower and faster speeds.
If I am accelerating through 1700 rpm, it is not an issue, just when at constant speed.
If this is normal there is no point in bothering my dealer, if not I will mention it.
thanks once again.
Any other 525d LCI owners out there?
Regards,

This was discussed here in another thread a couple of weeks ago. My engine is also noisy at 1700-1900 rpms in 6th gear.

I have a ticking noise from inside of the dashboard I think, during hard acceleration... Anyone?
