Derr, well, if you're concerned about leaving it on, just tap it to a cigarette lighter. I am such a tofu brain, but I believe mine is wired to the passenger side cig. lighter. Even if I somehow forget to turn it off, it still goes off when the car is off.
The reminder will be when you turn the car on, iDrive will complain, lol.

HOLY BALLS MCLOCKLIN. I am rigging up THE sweetest switch every, the amount of ballin can not be fathomed by those who have not seen it hahah!
I used the OEM light selector to rig up two LEDs for a master and secondary switch, while I was messing with the assembly, I also enabled the rear fog lights. I wanted to make the front fog light switch (which is empty for my car) to act as the on/off switch...but that didn't work, so I put the switch on the actual foglight button lol... I think it looks insanely clean. The master switch will be the one I had already installed from the DIY.
