Jumping on board... hopefully this is enough posts to send you a PM
Been lurking a little, but hadn't had a big reason to post yet... thanks for giving me a big reason!
cheers

Bummer for the Bimmer. I was so excited, especially when I found out that the CD player can already handle mp3.
But looking inside, doesn't look like all the wiring is there...
The harness was all wrapped up with fabric tape, but only two wires going in and I don't think there is a fiber optic wires.
Would that make sense?
It's a 530xi E60 with the full nav, no CD changer.
Open to any suggestions, point me to other posts, etc.... glad I didn't buy yet.

That fabric wrapped harness is the fiber optic loop.
Some info regarding that harness in http://forums.e60.net/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=750591

BlaSTiWi,
thanks... saw that post, but didn't get far enough into it. Also found the one for installing w/o CDC.
Probably have to have the dealer program for CDC, but that probably won't be much different than paying them to install the AUX Jack, which I was about to do.
Anyway, confident enough to take the plunge anyway.... PM'd FANTASTIC 5, just waiting to hear back and hopefully still able to get in.
cheers

Okay I'm in. Invoiced and paid.
Now, need an iPod
I know there are limitations for what works, especially older models... anyone know whether the 160GB or other 6th generation Classics work?
Cheers

Hello All.
I'm in the market to purchase this Dension Gateway 500 and wanted to verify I can indeed install it in my car and get full text. I have a:
2004 530i (late 2003) build
No CD Changer
No Navigation
Had the aux input installed last year and when they upgraded the software I was now able to see FM radio station names that were not visible before (I'd assume that's the MP3 CD upgrade but have not confirmed it.)
Lastly. What will you see on iDrive with the GW500 is installed? Will iPod/USB/Aux be added under automatically when the GW500 is installed?
THANKS!
