Of course they have...it's an *underdrive* pulley. The people on this list aren't that dumb. Nobody on this list will be running an ultra high power stereo system and nobody on this list wants the pulley underdriven to the point that it will cause problems with steering/cooling. Everybody on this list is interested in trading a healthy amount of parasitic drag in exchange for a notable power increase.

I found an underdrive pulley set for the 545's from RD Sport sold through BeastPower, $395. Worth it?

After investigating that specific pulley, I came to the conclusion that it was mis-marketed as a 545i pulley by BeastPower (I forgot why I came to this conclusion, but I did some research on it a while back). You should be able to confirm this by speaking with somebody at RD Sport. If I'm wrong, then I would say $395 is a great deal. Going with a custom pulley will likely cost more.

OK, so far we've built a decent sized list of individuals interested in getting a pulley built for their 545/550 (tentative or for-sure), so I'll strike the first TODO from off our list:
- We build a list of individuals interested in getting a pulley built for their 545/550 (doesn't have to be for sure buyers, just poeple interested at this point).
- We find somebody in the list to be our point of contact for the bhj dynamics guys, preferrably somebody good at bargaining.
- Work on pricing and actually figure out how much it will cost for R&D and each individual pulley.
- Figure out who is still interested once we've got solid numbers.
- Do some research on what percentage of underdrive would be appropriate for our engine.
- Send bhj dynamics our payments for how many people are still interested at this point
- Send bhj dynamics an OEM pulley and request it be re-built with a specific underdrive ratio.
Looks like we need to find somebody in this GB interested in being the point of contact for the BHJ dynamics guys, preferrably somebody good at bargaining. I'm not the best at bargaining (I'm an engineer), so is there anybody else on this list who feels like speaking to BHJ Dynamics on our behalf?

It probably makes sense to ask BHJ Dynamics the following questions:

1) How much would a single pulley run cost. They quoted me something like $2500, but let's see if we can get this number lower.
2) How much would subsequent pulley's cost if built to the same specs. Looking on their site they seem to offer pulleys for around $400, so maybe those numbers can be used for bargaining.
3) Based on whatever numbers they give us we should be able to derive a unit cost per pulley with the following forumula:

(((Individual Pulley) * Number Of Pulleys) + Research Costs) = Cost for 10 pulleys
(Cost for 10 pulleys / 10) = Unit cost per pulley

If they agree that a pulley (after engineering) will cost $400, and the first pulley (with engineering) will cost $2500, then the formula might look something like this if we order 10 pulleys:

((($400) * 10) + $2100) = $6100 for 10 pulleys
($6100 / 10) = $610 Unit cost per pulley

If anybody has suggestions or ideas, please chime in now. If anybody feels like taking the lead on bargaining, please also chime in. Would be silly if we had two guys bargining for the same part at the same time. Let's coordinate this one properly.
