I'll try it. But I'll probably hate it too. LOL. I got my new $200 toy so gotta stop spending (my LCD indicating shift knob). Already spent over $3000 repairing/upgrading the Allroad and another $400 repairing my bumper crack and repainting it then another few hundred in a clear bra. Omigod. I dont wanna think about it. ![Bashwall](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/bashwall.gif)

Frankly, I despise the throttle by wire system in the E60. The old school throttle on my E39 540i Sport was so much more responsive and so much more predictable and easy to modulate. With the 540i Sport, if you gave it WOT, the engine would immediately go to full power. Not so on the 550. The 550 is much more fun to drive with SB than without SB because it really does cut back on the throttle lag delay. But at the expense of smoothness and some amount of predictability.

sounds like the bigger the engine the harder it is for a smooth ride.
there is not jerky on my 5252i
maybe I used to it and can control it and less power. just right for HK road

I wasnt modding. I needed new brakes, tie air suspension was going so I replaced the control arms, tie rods, coil spring conversions, and also got an oil change. Also replaced the DVs and the throttle body boot. Then flashed the ECU.
All in all, $3K.
That's probably so. I still didnt like the SB V1 on a 530i MT. The rpms didnt drop fast enough for me. It feels like it kicks up higher
