Default Xenon Bulbs

Hi everyone I am a new member to this forum. Just bought a used 2009 535i in Black Saphire and Black Dakota with 61000 miles on it for $23900. Good Deal??
Had it checked out at a BMW dealership before purchasing it. I noticed today that the front right side day light running light went out and from the forums i read that the replacement bulb is 35W H8 bulb.
How do I know if I have Xenon lights and if so will the 35W H8 bulb work?

Also since I have no warranty left I had asked the dealer what it would cost to buy an extended warranty. Here is the pricing: 3 Months / 3,000 Miles
$2,337.00
6 Months / 6,000 Miles
$2,601.00
12 Months / 12,000 Miles
$3,347.00
18 Months / 18,000 Miles
$3,729.00
24 Months / 24,000 Miles
$4,167.00
30 Months / 30,000 Miles
$4,404.00
36 Months / 36,000 Miles
$4,782.00
36 Months / 50,000 Miles
$4,944.00

I think personaly its ridiculous, however please give me an opinion if its worth it.

Thanks.

Yup, those are ridiculous prices for an aftermarket warranty. Unless your "new to you" e60 was beat to death, save the money for regular repairs and maintenance. I suggest you download a copy of the Owner's Manual from the info section of this forum.

And visit this website *асˆи„€овка VIN BMW :: BMW :: Ÿе€в‹й ˜н‚е€не‚ жƒ€нал об ав‚омобиля… BMW :: ’с‘ о BMW, новос‚и, с‚а‚Œи, обз, „о‚о ‘œ’ to find out what opinions are installed on your car.

It's easy to see if you have Xenon or conventional halogen but if my recollection serves me right the 535 had Xenon Adaptive headlights as standard (they are standard on all 5'ers in the USA now).

And you can search for parts specs for your car here too : RealOEM.com Online BMW Parts Catalog

One last piece of advice, based on my personal experience, before purchasing a replacement bulb - remove the old one and verify the number and type. Some manufacturers make mid-year changes while the parts suppliers don't always have the correct parts numbers on their websites.

My Ride: 2004 Dinan 545i, Titanium Metallic Silver, 2007 Dinan M5, 6sp, Silver Gray Metallic

I just picked up a 2004 545i with 60k miles this past Friday, I got my warranty through my credit union ($1,895), 60 months/100,000 miles which ever comes first. B2B, it covers everything minus wear and tear items, brakes, pads, etc. See if your bank offers one as well.
