I was told that I can not get Aux input as I did not have Logic 7.
Is that True?
Any Dealer Name where this has been done.

i have an aux in my gmc sierra (will soon be an owner of a 5 series) and it sounds much better than any fm transmitter.? The sound is great and consistent.? You have a 40k-68k car dont skimp on the sound system guys.

Shux, what brand/solution did you choose for your auxiliary input? I own a Sierra myself (it's a 2005 SLE x-cab). The head unit has everything integrated (no separate slave unit). That includes XM, OnStar, Cassette, and Single CD slot.

What I've read so far would seem to indicate that I need a slave unit port on the back of the head unit in order to add an aux input. Furthermore, I was told by some Joe Sixpack stereo installer that there may be side effects (like having to have the slave component playing continuously while using the aux input... WTF??!?). Well, I don't have a slave unit of any kind (as it's all integrated), so I doubt there's even an external connector back there. I wonder if I'm SOL here!

Thanks in advance for any additional info you can provide. Sorry if this is offtopic for this board, y'all!

Don't waste your time at Roadfly!

The AUX Input works perfectly fine in EVERY E60/E61!

I decided not to waste my time and money on the Aux imput and bought the Monster Cable FM Modulator. It works great and also charges the Ipod at the same time. I have it pluged into the rear sig lighter. I am willing to wait on the full integrated Ipod for the e60 rather than spending the money and time on the Aux imput.

How is the monster cable FM modulator sound quality? Do they have a stand alone? w/out the iPod charger? I want to use it for other stuff Dell DJ player, iPOD, and DVD player... but dont want the iPOD specific charger...

I don't know if Monster has a standard unit. I can say after buying 3 other types of FM modulators, and returning them all, I am satisfyed with the Monster Cable's unit.

I've got a MY04, but never heard of incompatibility with MY05.

I'm using the AUX input on MY05 and it works fine.
I had an FM Transmitter but here in Belgium it's a waste of money because you're losing all the time the transmission.

Please see following link for a solution with full control of Ipod on the Idrive :

http://www.dension4u.de/shop/product_info....products_id=426

I've sent them an e-mail to keep me informed when this is available.
If i have it installed i'll put it in the forums.
