Hey guys, I will have the 545i this weekend as the car is being transported from a dealer in RI to NJ. I have the VIN is there a way for me to find out when my car was built?

Thanks
Jon

You'll be able to get the month/year off the plate on the driver door jam. To be more specific take your VIN to your dealer.

Your dealer or BMWNA can give you the production date from the VIN -- give one of them a call...

you can get the month and year of production with the last 7 Digits of your VIN

Just go here and type it in

I have this problem with my office network but not my home network. Maybe it's the firewall thing. I don't know.

However, I don't think this site will work for your case. Your car is too new. It might just give garbage info like it did with some members.

This is what it said at the site:
*** Data is compatible with BMW ETK CD-ROM as of 10/2004.

I don't think this thing works for 2005. It's telling me the following info for my last 7:

Vehicle code NC92
Series E60
Model 535d
Body type saloon
Catalog model ECE
Production date 2004 / 04
Engine M57N
Transmission Unknown
Steering Right
Catalyzer YES

I"m definitely not a diesel or a 2004. hmm

Did not work for mine. Gave me a 525i built in 2004. Mine is a 530i built this year.
