Is the 5GT a hatchback F10 the way an X6 is a hatchback X5?

This has been discussed many times here....it seems to be overlapping the 5 series sedan and wagon, X5, X6 and even perhaps the 3 series wagon! How to sell it WITHOUT cannibalizing the sales of all the other BMW products??

its a hybrid between the 5er and the 7er, having the interior room of a 7 with the front end of a 5er, and the "utility" of a touring

I misunderstood, thinking it was part of the F10 lineup. Do you know which chassis it is based upon?

it is based on the F10 lineup ....the front half is from the F10, the rear has been stretched to accomodate the room of the rear passager seating area of a 7er, Mr Bangle was gracious to explain in any interview b4 his "departure"

It's an answer to a question no-one was really asking! The E61, for me, is so much more capable.
