Default F90?

Okay, so the 2018 M5 is going to be billed the F90.

Upcoming F90 BMW M5 is already looking hot

Doesn't that seem a little backword, since the 2017 5 Series is the G30? Anyone have some insight here?

All BMWs are going to be riding on the CLAR platform. The 5 series was literally the first BMW that started the whole 'XXX' naming trend when the E12 came out. My guess is that even though the G11 was the first car to be released on the new platform, the M5 was the first project to receive a chassis code under the new CLAR platform.

total guess, I could be completely wrong.
