Sam Philip

That's why it's positive. I think if the 3 did a review of it, they would like it because it's a hatchback.

Nice post gorban

"On the road, the engine is as excellent as its figures suggest. This is one of the smoothest, most tractable small diesels out there, with an unfeasibly wide powerband and much shove throughout the rev range. OK, occasionally you'll miss the kidney-jabbing acceleration of the straight sixes, but for a real-world combination of economy and pace, look no further."

That's a +1!

I think they 'top gear' also just named this their family car of the year. Which is puzzling because this car has no storage space at all. no cubbies hardly and glove box and no storage under the rear load space..umm !

... it's a "lifestyle car" - not a pack wagon...

That's why I have one....plus an MPV plus and old passatt for runs to the local rubbish dump and other dirty work like my mountain bikes....in fact I"m wondering why I have a 5 touring at all given I can"t use it for anything a traditional hatchback should or could be used for.

It would be interesting to know how many folks actually use the hatchback and what for ? Personally I always bought touring BMW because the touring looks great, definitely one of the best looking cars on the road, but the sedans look like the ugly sister, from the rear, or a Mitsubishi Charisma. the f10 sedan is little better looking but still needs some work on the first revision to tidy up the rear. and I haven't even mentioned that huge front nose on the F10, man if that was my kid I'd be saving now for the nose jobs.
