Saving to presets
 

Thanks for accepting me onto the group. I have had a couple of E61s now. The first one (Pre-LCI) had two steering wheel buttons you could set to options and one of those was blank screen, something I like for driving at night without going through the menu options to get there. The later LCI did not allow you to configure those buttons but with the original BMW fob, I can save blank screen from the menu/screen options as preset button No 8. I just got a new key programmed and cut and when I try to save the blank screen, I get a message "Cannot save with screen blank" or something to that effect. Everything else about the new key is fine. I don't remember exactly how I programmed the original key as it was a while ago, but that still works, so it is not the car, but presumably something I am doing, unless new keys are different from the original ones. Any ideas how I can do this?
