I know it has been covered on the E61/E60 forum but I had some concrete info from my dealer yesterday when enquiring about a replacement for my 2008 E61 520d M sport touring
He knows I'm interested in replacing my car with an F11 touring but I would prefer to wait for the M Sport version. Just received from head office he tells me was the following info;

"As part of the sponsorship activities at the BMW PGA golf championship
held at Wentworth last weekend, BMW UK showcased a 5 Series Touring M
Sport (F11) within the BMW Owner's lounge, providing a unique "sneak
preview" for current BMW owners and an opportunity to prospect to
competitor Estate drivers.

At this stage, no specific details regarding M Sport product substance
nor pricing can be confirmed, however both are anticipated to be broadly
in line with previous generation 5 Series. It is expected that M Sport
for both 5 Series Saloon and Touring will be introduced from September
2010 production. Confirmed information, along with details regarding
further event previews for 5 Series M Sport, will be communicated by
July 2010"

Can't wait

If they are targeting 'golfers' then I definately won't be upgrading my E61 M Sport, I can't stand golf or friking golfers.

Showing them an M Sport F11 is a waste of time....have you seen what golfers dress like when they're playing....it's comic.

They should stuck with their Mercedes.

Not too impressed of what has been shown so far. Whereas the M-sport package gave the E61 another dimension, this looks slightly off place and more of a 25 year old's wet dream come true through a night with PS and a lot of Coca Cola.

I'm afraid I have to agree with you.

Another reason to cherish the E61, though the interior pics in that new 550i thread are quite stunning...

Let us see this in real in an better colour, and then we can disguss this, because in this pictures you cant see the exact proportions of the package. I`m sure that in real it looks like perfect.

Ciao

Gentelmans!

For me it's "better" version of E 91 with "M-pakiet". (sugested you to find some pictures in net)
I think that "they could put more power in the process of making successor" lovely E 61 with M- pakiet!
The accountants rulez

Best regards for all owners E61
