Default KaFAS1 to KaFAS2 retrofit - possible to use the existing rain sensor?

Has anyone retrofitted from KaFAS1 to KaFAS2 on their car?

I wonder about this because its different on windscreen before and after 07/2012 (when KaFAS2 was introduced).

Cars before 07/2012 have this:

And cars after 07/2012 have this:

I think the last windscreen looks so much better than the pre-07/2012 looks.

I know there is different in how the KaFAS1 and KaFAS2 are mounted, and KaFAS1 will not fit the new windscreen. Either will KaFAS2 fit in the old windscreen.

The question will therefore be if it is different mounting on old vs. new rainsensor. They are different, but to me it seems like to be same mounting.

Has anyone done this retrofit and would let me know if it is possible to use OLD rainsensor (before 07/2012) with NEW type windscreen and KaFAS2?
