BMW does it very hard to find non OEM parts for their cars
All the extras cost a lot and it?s very difficult to replace them with other parts. A good example is the wheels. Both the ET?s and the tires sizes are really hard to buy from others but ?BMW proved partners?. I had to buy my 20? OEM wheels from BMW, because the ET?s wouldn?t be right from any other wheel maker. I did Google and Yahoo etc. Also the 312 wheel size (8.5 front and 9.0 rear) makes it very hard to find good non-RF tires in the size of 245/35 front and 275/30 rear. Therefore I had to to buy 285/30 rears, which is the absolute maximum width for 9? wheels. Why aren?t the 312 OEM rears 9.5? as they where on the E60 166/172M wheels? They are not dumb at the BMW headquarters, but how dumb are we - the consumers? |
