I believe that anyone who owns a 5 series received an invite to the UDE. Does anyone know what they mean by a "valuable gift towards the purchase of a new BMW [5 series]?"

Mine says "good toward the purchase or lease of a new BMW model". Not sure if I read that as a 5 series (F10) only... and I have no idea what it could be, perhaps a coupon of some sort for some amount off towards your purchase!

I stand corrected - it is any BMW.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is "trunk money?"

And last, how has this "gift" thing been kept so secretive? My BMW center and the salesman that I've dealt with would be glad to let me test drive the '11 X5 and the '11 535 or 550 today (they are on the lot now and the offer has been given). The real and only reason to wait for the Ultimate Driving Event appointment to do that is based on the incentive that has been "dangled" in front of us in the invitation.

"trunk money": dealer incentives used to help push the sale...does not benefit you directly but can help negotiate a better price...

Trunk Monkey or money. You need the trunk monkey to beat up the dealer to give you a fair trade in and a fair price on the new vehicle out the door. You need the trunk money to make the deal; unfortunately, there is no mention of trunk money on any website noting dealer incentives.
