My Ride: Just gone-520d m sport- Jet Black- Dakota Leather black- AluCube interior,
On order- F10 520d SE-Titanium Silver
While in drive , does using the -/+ paddles override the auto box or do you have to push the selector lever to steptronic mode to use the paddles?

nope, you don't have to switch the actual shifter to use the paddles to change gears, however I think if you use the paddles initially, but stay in a certain gear too long, it switches back...I could be wrong about the latter tho...

Yes, if you use the paddles while in "D" and not do anything within 5 sec or so, it would revert back to "D."
But if it's in manual mode (shift lever pushed to the left) and you use the paddles, it stays in manual mode.
