Default Soft Close Doors?

I’m looking to purchase a used ‘14-‘15 535xi, but when I shop around none of them have soft close doors.

Can soft close doors be installed by the dealer after market?

Or are soft close doors only an item that can be installed during the car build?

Soft close doors ala Mercedes Benz. You gently push the door closed and the latch mechanism pulls it the rest of the way in for you.

Wow, if members don't know what the "soft close doors" feature is then that's a little scary for getting aftermarket.

Better keep looking for one installed during the build.

I don't recall ever seeing any 5ers with soft close doors. I think it's pretty much reserved for the 7 series. I've heard of people retrofitting them in E60s and F10s. good luck with your car search.

Yeah, pretty sure I have only seen them on 7 series.. or X5 but not on a 5 series.. maybe the newer ones. It certainly wasn't an option on the new 4 series..

My car came with soft close doors, not sure if it was part of a package though. I have technology package, so I have HUD, surround view as well as driver assist package.

I have them on my '11. Pretty cool feature, I like them especially with kids (6 & 4 yr old), I don't have to constantly triple check that they closed the door all the way. As long as they get it to the point where gravity kicks in, I know it's going to close properly.
