Went and saw the new 535 and 550 yesterday at my local dealership, my initial impression is that I really don't care for it, the looks anyway. Its not as classic as the E39 and not as "aggressive or unique" as the E60 550. The 535, 550 were parked next to a 7 series, at first sight I couldn't figure out which was the 5 and which was the 7. They looked like a smaller version of the 7, almost identical. The part that i really didn't like is the new look of the front. Even after 2 years, my 550i still looks more unique. To each his own, I guess. Maybe it will rub on you as time goes by, will have to wait and see the new M5 down the road. Just my opinion...

+1 for that! Although I haven't seen the F10 yet in person, I have seen the Gran Turismo and was not impressed with the front or the styling. Sad thing is, I think BMW might be following Audi's footsteps on styling. If you'll notice the S series in the Audi line their styling is very subtle compared to the regular models, which to me is a bummer. I saw some pics of the F10 with the M-Package, and you could barely tell the difference. I like that the M-Tech package really set it apart from a normal E60, but now it looks like thats out the window!
Guess we'll have to stick to the E60!!!

I too saw the new 550i at the dealer today. I was not impressed with the Gran Turismo rear end. It's just not for me. With that said, I might be singing another tune after a few months. I am guilty of not liking the E60 when it was first released in 2004. I must have been crazy for not liking it then. I remember thinking the "shark fin" looked cheesy. I just bought a used one a week ago, haha!

always thought the older version was the best, even know but the E60 has grown on me since then and now I'm a proud owner of one, albeit it's a used one though.
As for the the new F10, seems like BMW wants to bring back some exterior characteristic of the older model but something is missing yet I cannot describe it.

+1 on the new 5 looks like a smaller 7. in fact all the BMW's seem to look very similar, just various sizes. The E60 didn't appeal to me when I first saw it in 2003, but then it grew on me and I ended buying one. I don't care for the front hood on the new F10 where hood meets the front spoiler as I think it takes away from the flow of the lines. And particularlly do not like the new bulging kidney grille. Overall, I like the looks of the F10, but am a little put off that all the new BMW's seem to look alike, especially hard to tell the difference of the new 7 and 5 from a distance? And the Gran Turismo, nice back seat but the exterior looks ouch! ?? and they complained about Bangle?

Saw the new 5 series at the dealer the other day, the nose is really THAT flat. Looks like someone ran the nose of the car into a brick wall. It doesn't look any larger then the e60. The interior does look nicer but I didn't sit in it, I'm sure the ergonomics are pretty good. The front of the new F10, looks a lot like the new 7 series. The rear looks like a 3 series and a bit like the new Hyundai Sonata.
As for the 5 series "GT", it looks like a larger, more sleek, and much nicer Pontiac Aztec.
No flames please, this is must my opinion.

My Ride: 2010 BMW 550i, Carbon Black, Black Dakota Leather, M Sport Package, and 35% Tinted windows.
I saw the new 550i next to the new 550GT.
I do not like the hood on the 550i.
I think I need to wait and see the sport version with BMW's flair.
So I'm glade I didn't wait for it, I've been able to enjoy my 2010 for about four months now.
And I don't think I missed anything by not waiting.

I saw the 550i and the 535i today with the sport package and I actually love them. These cars look better than the e39 and it looks like a BMW should look. I will definitely buy one.
