I am looking at a catalogue of the new five and the run-flats appear to be optional on all engines apart from the 550 where they are standard equipment. If this is true I will be the happiest bunny of all, I simply hate the run-flats. Can anyone confirm this?

Not at least in the EU (BMW Nordic), I'm sorry.
Only RF's.

I made an deal with my local dealer to change
the tires to non-RF's.

Hi,

In Germany and also in Nordic, including Finland, the 17" standard wheels come with non RFT tires. All the other dimensions are available only as RFT. After two weeks of F10 535iA with 18" 245/45 RFT I can say that the new ones are far more comfortable compared to the 6/2008 18" 245/40 RFTs that I had in my E60. Both cars are with M-Sport suspension.

Best regards,

TGII
