I was invited by the dealership to attend the launch party of the F13 on Thursday night, and took the opportunity to talk with a sales rep about (among others) my opinions concerning the RFTs. Long story short, he was an old school salesman, who does not listen to the customer but want to convince him. But what he did good, was to introduce me to an exec from BMW Switzerland Ltd, who was also attending the event. Surprisingly, this exec told me that he somewhat shared my views on the topic. He had ways to escalate clients' comments to the Head office, and had already done so for this often discussed topic. Moreover, he said that, although BMW is a big company and things are changing very slowly, he felt that there was some signs that things could be changing in this area. Interesting discussion anyway.

Unfortunately RFTs are one of those 'advancements' which are here to stay. Let's just hope that they get lighter, cheaper, and less noisy as they get developed more and more.
I for one hate them.
