Question about the 550i vs535i
 

Hi all I just have few questions about the f10 550i and the 535i... I got totaled my e60 and I am planning to get 2011-2014 550i or 2011-2014 535i... I was reading about issues on the 550 engines.. any recommendations or ppl that experienced anything with their f10?

Sorry to hear about your loss. I am in the same situation, our E60 535 engine seized so we need another car. Thought about the F10 550 but compared to the E60 I didn't like one thing about it. The Econ mode is horrible. Audi and MB have a far superior system. We looked at an S6, E550 and E63 AMG for comps. There is a sick Audi S6 available at Beyers Toyota in Ohio. We passed on it as it was too much money so I think we are going for a 2014 E550 which is closer to pur price range.

thank you for your reply! I was looking into Audi also but ended up purchasing 2014 535i 6 spd... Overall I like the car... but do not really like their m sport suspension... I am looking to purchase the kw v3. Maybe i just got used to the kw v2s i had on the e60.

AC system EVAC and RECHARGE, test for leaks
 

Does anyone know where the EVAC system or valves are for the AC system on a BMW 550i. Where do let the freon evacuate, run test, if no leaks, --> recharge.

Secondly, where on the car do you Recharge the system with R134a refrigerant ?

Coolant System Flush or Drain Fill BMW 550i
 

Does anyone know where the Coolant Drain Plug is on a BMW 550i ?
I want to do a Drain & Fill of the Coolant.

Secondly, anyone ever had a Complete Cooling System Flush, How much did it cost?, did you observe what was done? I'm the type... where at first I'll watch and stand around to see what's going on with my vehicle, then after gaining trust of the Mechanic's ability I feel a little bit better leaving my car alone, but you still got to watch B)
