Possibly buying a 2015 535i
Hello newbie here? Considering purchasing a 2015 535i from a dealership in Miami Florida. It is a certified BMW dealership and the car has 14000 miles left on the factory warranty. My concern is expensive repairs in the future as I have never owned a BMW before. The car looks and drives great. No strange noises knocks or pings, but the car is not certified pre-owned. Is there anything I should look for? Are there any questions I should raise? Should I consider extending the warranty past the 50,000 miles? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

:welcome: to the forum! If the dealer is an authorized BMW dealer, I'd ask them why they can't CPO it. Something sounds fishy. Yes, you are right. BMWs are very expensive to fix without some kind of warranty. That 14,000 miles will go by fast.

If it's still within factory warranty period, and they won't certify - there is a reason.
If you're buying a 2015 or newer BMW, I'd try to find one that is CPO - definitely worth it. I wouldn't even bother exploring a 3rd party warranty - never heard of, or seen, a good one when something goes wrong. Fine print on those can exclude coverage of basically anything you'd really want covered. |
Not being CPO might mean it was in an accident. Does the Carfax say No Accidents?
