I don't really care for the holes in the fender. What are those for? Are they part of the auxiliary A/C?

Wow, that's from Dec 10, 2007 -- not one, but two years ago ... I wonder if Bangle had anything to do with the final design of the F10??

I just saw one of my neighbors' new all-black 7-Series / Sport Package again pulling through the entrance today. That is one fine looking automobile. If the new 5 comes across as a 'mini-7' that is perfectly fine with me.

Here's my beef with people criticizing the new 5 and saying it's 'plain' and not 'ground-breaking' like the E60. Think about this: Other than the way the trunk lines up with the rest of the body, what is exactly ground-breaking about the E60? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my car. As I have said before, it is the most complimented by complete strangers car that I have ever owned. Yes, the grill is slanted back instead of slightly forward like previous generations, but what else makes it so 'different'?
Hood? Front panels? Doors? Roofline? Stance? They're pretty, sporty, whatever, but are they are really that different/special?
I like the grill/front of the new F10. It is lower in person than it might appear in photos, and -- to me -- very sporty. (How do I know about how low it is? Because it's lower than on the 7 or 5GT, and I have seen those models in person.) I happen to like the hood lines. I'll bet they're going to look cool from the driver's seat as you look out over the hood. I always thought my E60's windows' lines gave it a coupe-like appearance, and the new F10's is even sleeker; more 'pulled back.' The car looks like it's in motion while standing still -- something else I appreciate. I also like the long hood / short rear deck look as well. And the interior? It's hands-down better compared to me pre-LCI 5.
I'm no longer going to bother to comment in the negative threads about the F10's design because tastes are so subjective and people have the right to not like something. I respect that. But I thought I'd share what I DO like about this new model, which is basically everything. Still love my E60, and I'll probably have it another two years, easily, but I can't wait to see the new F10 in person. My heart skipped a few beats the first time I sat in the new 7, so I know I'll have the same reaction next spring when the 5 arrives in the States. And that's BEFORE the M-tech kit even comes out!

The front of the F10 looks more like a shark who sneezed into a wall. I know it's being blamed on EU pedestrian safety standard, but the new A6 and S-class still have an aerodynamic front, so I don't know what BMW was thinking there...
I'll hold on to my E61 and I bet it'll still look more modern than the F10 when the 7th-gen comes out!
