Cool, thanks! The X5 wood looks like it has a little more red in it...

I had planned to put some miles on my F10 this past weekend but I have only driven 100 miles. These are my early opinions.

? Engine and Sport AT
? I drive is much easier to use and has a lot more features.
? Interior and Nappa leather. Ambient lighting. Much more refined than the E60. Seems like there is less room in the front seat due to the wider console.
? View from the side and the rear.
Dislikes or just not sure yet:
? Seems too heavy compared to E60. Doesn?t seem as responsive to steering input but this may improve as I get more used to the feel. It seems to be true that BMW is getting farther away from the Ultimate Driving Machine. My E39 540 6 speed, M5 and E46 330i were great handlers. I think the E60 was a step down from these and the F10 is another step down. It is more like my 745Li.
? Front end is just plain ugly. I parked to my friends 2008 550i and the difference is startling.
? Wheels have to be the worst sport package wheels ever produced by BMW
I?m not really as negative as it sounds. I?m sure it will grow on me and I will like it as I have all my previous BMWs (except 745Li).

Well it seems to me you're not totally happy with your car. (Like you still have some doubt whether you made the right decision). I can't imagine buying such an expensive vehicle unless I'm completely 100% happy and satisfied...from Day 1. As for me, there's nothing about my 550i I can complain about. I love the styling, the performance, the features, the ergonomics and workmanship. In my opinion, when I see my F10 parked next to an E60, I think the F10 looks more contemporary and "business-like"....whereas the E60 looks a little dated and mundane.....probably because I see lots of E60's on a daily basis. I have no complaints about the steering. To me, it's not heavy at all.....as a matter of fact, I think it might be just slightly too light; however, for me it's quick and precise and gets the job done. (I'm glad the car didn't have the dreaded Active Steering).

I really like BMWs, after having six different Lexus, and ordered both the F10 and the new LCI X5 with turbo six without being able to drive either model. I thought each would be an improvement other previous models. Well, the X5 is defintely better with the new engine. My reservations with the F10 is that is just isn't as fun to drive as my previous 5s. It's more refined, but IMHO, not as exciting. I will get used to it, or I will get some other BMW.

Congrats on your new ride! I sure hope you do enjoy it! But you wont catch me dead driving the F10, it looks plain ole boring, no type of styling and definition like the E60. The E60 front end looks so damn sexy especially with the M-Bumpers, look at the design on the E60 Front and rear lights, looks splendid, something they should've done with the F10. If BMW continues to pursue for "Efficient Dynamics" rather than "Ultimate Driving Machine", more people will lean towards AUDI's performance and styling...Just my opinion.

P.S.: So are you going to change your name now to F10-550i?

That is a very beautiful car E60-550i

I like the wood trims with the black int.

The X5 looks like "in the family".
