My Ride: 2008 535i: June 6th start build, complete June 17th, at NY Port July 5th, at dealer July 10th, took delivery Friday July 13- Plantimum Bronze/Natural Brown Leather/Light Poplar, Sport Package, Sport Auto, Active Steering, Premium Package, CWP & PDC. Dinan Performance Software 384hp & 421 ft/lbs.
Paraphrased: Codenamed F10, the 2011 Five series will use engines based upon the turbocharged range. 3.0 liter TT 540, 4.4 liter TT 550 and a TT Clean Diesel. The M5 gets a variant of the TT V8. Hybrids will be available in the range as well. The F10 wheelbase will grow a couple of inches and there will be extensive use of Aluminum in closing panels, fenders and roof. Control arm front suspension replaces MacPherson struts. Integral Steering will be an option which electronically controls rear wheel steering. Adaptive damping will also be available. The F10, 7 series and 6 series will share the same backbone (platform) along with the 2011 Progressive Activity Sedan (PAS)
