I agree they will definitely start selling the 535d in the U.S. With the new fuel standards, BMW needs to improve its fleet fuel economy quickly and the existing diesel technology is probably the cheapest way to do it.

but improving fuel efficiency is one of the reasons BMW went to FI versus staying with NA engines right? So I'd think US diesel models are dependent on current sales of non 5 series diesels (335d and x5d)
