Manual vs. 8-speed auto CO2
#1
Do you know how close this new 8-speed automatic can get to the manual CO2 figures? For example manual 520d is 5.0 l/100km, but what about automatic?
This is important in those countries (at least Finland) that tax cars according those CO2 figures. So automatic can be much more expensive that manual in some cases.
I am guessing 5.1-5.2 l/100km for automatic 520d, as they claim that 8-speed automatic is 6% better than the old 6-speed. (E60 figures are 5.1 and 5.6).
Hybrid model should be able to get under 5 litres, but it may take one or two years before we see low end hybrids.
