My Ride: 07' 550i sport; Sapphire Black/Auburn; sport package; steptronic; navigation with R.T.T.I.; heads up; cold weather package; Logic-7; BMW MOST ipod kit; Motorola V3 snap-in adapter; rear heated seats and rear shades; anthracite headliner; sirrius sat. radio; M-aero kit; OEM style 166 Wheels with 245/35-19 front and 285/30-19 rear Michelin PS2s.
Just for fun: How much of an increase do you expect the twin turbo will have in the 5's acceleration? The motor is mighty impressive in the X6 which is vastly heavier than the 5 will ever be. If the X6 turns in a 5.2 0-60 (same as current 550), then imagine a 5 series with 40 more hp and 90 more ft. lb. of torque!! I wouldn't be surprised if BMW sandbags the car a bit with the gear ratios etc... However, if they produce an x-drive V8, we could be talking about some serious acceleration stats. I can't see how it wouldn't be under 4.8 sec. with a sub 13 sec. quarter mile.
My 550 is fast enough. I would welcome the new xdrive (without a sacrifice in handling) and I always welcome new technology. But the one area the car could improve is handling. The cornering is great, but the steady state stiffness of the suspension going straight in triple digit speeds could be increased a bit in my opinion. Put some higher profile tires (the wheels are just too easy to damage and the ride is hyper sensitive to road imperfections) and stiffer springs to make the car more planted. Being able to change shock settings alone (comfort, normal, sport) doesn't do much for me IMHO. We'll see what BMW has in store....
Any comments. Any features you're waiting to see. Any comments on what should change, what should stay the same?

I don't care how fast it goes. It will be the faster in its class, when it comes out, faster than the RS6
What I care about is the looks on the F10 and so far in a no no right now
