I'm looking for a guide or some clearer instructions on how to access the halogen low beams in the 2011 528i.
I wanted to try some different bulbs but I can only see the high beam lamps.
The opening is small as heck and I'm not seeing the easy method the manual shows.

I'm going to do the fogs as well but accessing the low beams is driving me nuts.

I'd appreciate any help on this. Thanks!

There should only be 4 screws that you need to remove to take out the headlight two very easily seen from above and two that you only need to loosen to remove the headlight assembly.

I have never changed the bulb on the halogen but I have removed the headlights. After you remove the headlights there will be a connection in the back. Simply depress on the top and bottom of that connection and pull it off. There should be a cover with two clips on the top. You press those two clips until they release (i normally use a screw driver) and you should have access to the bulbs from that point on. At least that is how it is set up on an LCI with Bi-Xenon.

You can then access the fogs as well.

Anyone with Halogen experience, please chime in.

I have. The instructions are actually really clear in your F10 user's manual.

I'll take another look at the manual but it looks like they're accessing them from the flaps above the headlight assembly.
That's what I saw & took from reading the manual. I'll take another look.
Thank you!

That's incorrect, you are accessing it from the wheel well.

I've now realized that it's through the wheel well but it's a tight space and I can't get the bulb out once I've opened the cover & removed the cap. I don't want to break anything obviously but I can't see how it's being held in place.

Sometimes I miss the simplicity of my older cars. Everything was always easily seen, reached and swapped.

Did you turn your wheels? It gives you quite a bit more space to work with.

Yes. I did turn them. It's still an odd angle to work with and big hands don't help.
Service techs must have a tool for that crap.

There should only be 4 nails that you need to remove to take out the top side signals two very swiftly seen from above and two that you only need to convenience to remove the top side signals set up.
