any idea on how one would get fuel contamination in their oil. i recently had my 550i in for service and had the timing chains done. car left dealership and had a cel on in minutes. dealer said that i had fuel in my oil and they changed the oil and sent the car on its way. no real explanation. any ideas ? thanx in advance.

Running rich can do it, as can a host of other things. You could always send a sample into Blackstone labs to see if you have a genuine problem. How old was the oil?

send a sample into Blackstone, I think it's less than $30. It's not uncommon to have a bit of fuel smell in oil, but at 1000 miles it's something I'd look into for sure just to make sure you don't have something going on.

bmw found that all of my injectors on bank 2 were leaking into the cylinders while the car was off. they replaced all of my injectors and so far no problems.
