I may be comparing apples/oranges, but the US spec E60 550i (auto trans.) is listed at 3,968 lbs. If the F10 550 is 1830kg, that's 4,026 lbs. - or only a 58 lbs. increase.
Also, BMW's F10 press releases go on and on about all the weight saving features of the F10.
