F10 525d n57 engine working temperature
Hello everyone, I just bought a F10 525d from 08/2011 with the n57 engine.
a week ago I had my universal tester on, and discovered that the temperature was 96/97 degree Celsius at 90 km/h and 100/101 Celsius at 130 km/h. Is this normal and is it okay? Regards Ivan |

Important they're not too low otherwise the DPF won't work. Yours are certainly not too low, so that's good. Don't know what too high looks like though. |
This week I removed the termostat and did the boiling test in a pot, but the termostat opend at 88 degres celsius and looked fine.
I put a new gasket in and put it all together again, new coolant and went for a test drive. Now it was okay, constant tempreture around 93-94 degres celsius:wow: I realy dont understand this, but anyway the problem is solved and I am happy:twoup: I will keep an eye on the tempretur for the next couple of weeks. FYI. the working tempretur of the oil is 102 degres celsius on this car, I was informd by a BMW mekanik. |
yes its normal
