Called to see dealer in Dublin today- Was a little underwhelmed after seeing F10 in the flesh but it was on standard 17'' rims.
More impresseed with the following:[*]Leather now standard[*]8 speed sport auto box costs only e180 over 6 speed auto[*]520d to come with twin chrome exhausts[*]part elec seats still standard[*]interior much more luxurious that e60[*]standard interior trim -piano black wood Given the F10 (albeit in SE guise) is e15k less than I paid for my 520d msport in 2006 I fully expected the specification to be poverty level. Not so- |
I doubt that interior tim is piano black wood, it`s just black-ish plastic.
Piano black wood is a Individual equipment. |
The leather seats are not standard in Finland.
But news to me are that 520d is to come with twin chrome exhausts. According to my knowledge this is not true. But the chrome kidney grills are a fact for the 520d according to brochures. And yes, they are not piano black but black high gloss. All F10 comes with plastic coated int trims. A gave an counteroffer today for a F10 520dA(utomatic) with - Xenons - PDC - extended AC - fold down rear seats - HiFi professional speakers - sport steering wheel - Defa heating system for the engine and cabin Looks: - Jet Black - Black int with black high gloss trims - 18" Style 330 wheels (for the winter, with non-RF tires) For the summer I will get 19" BMW wheels with non-RF tires. |
Okay, hands up on the piano black- My bad, must work harder on my attention to detail-
I too was surprised that twin chrome exhausts were to appear on the 520d but thats what it says in the brochure- Typo? Hopefully not- |
2 Attachment(s)
It`s true, now 520d will be with chromed grils,
Attachment 103894 and double chrome exhaust. Attachment 103895 |
Yes!
Double side-by-side pipe exhaust is standard on all models except on the 535i (one pipe in each corner) and 550i (a trapezoid/rectangular pipe in each corner) |
Thank's for the info, guys! :)

What about wheels / tyres on 520d ?
Run flats or not ? Any room for a space-saver spare in trunk ? I heard RFT's are standard, with no spare and no room for one in trunk. If correct this is a very serious omission from BMW. Can anyone confirm spec ? Would hate to be 200kms from home with a puctured tyre and no spare and tyre shop not open / able to get replacement for 12 hours ! I mean, we all rightly get excited about specifications, but won't mater if wheels won't turn, and wife / kids sitting in car on misserable Jan night with a flat tyre 200kms from home (it has happend to me with E61, now carry spare). |

Yes, there's no room for a spare (the battery and other electronics take the space)
and all BMW's come with RFT's. |
