Noticed that there is now available BMW Performance Power Kit for 520d 184hp->200hp 1.245?.
Acceleration 0-100km/h 0,5 faster than standard one.

I think installation price is not included in that 1245?.

What do you think, is it any good to spend such amount of money for 0,5s ?

I doubt whether you would notice any difference in the performance of the car with only a 16hp increase in power.

Hmm...I'd say it's overpriced, almost 15 000SEK + labour. BMW throws in some extra hardware to justify the high price. Other than that it just software that adds a moderate amount of extra torque and hp. One advantage though is that the warranty will not be compromised...

Anyone here with a 520d and a KCR-box? For 4 700SEK, about ?520 you get 210hp and 440Nm (the auto gearbox, 8HP45, is specified up to 500Nm).

Atleast for me the BMW warranty is the most important issue. In these modern cars, you never know when something expensive breaks and if you have aftermarket chip, you can say bye bye to BMW warranty.

Still I'm not sure if it's worth of that huge amount of money. Don't know what would be the total price including installation. Any estimate ?

+1. For me the standard car is more than fast enough.

The BMW Performance kit will give warranty but still.
About +16 hp (to 200 hp) and +40 Nm (to 420 Nm) more,
0-100 km/h -0,5 seconds (7,8) and +7 km's to the top speed.

What are the new CO2 measures (consumtion)?
It will add to the taxes in Finland (if registered).
And I don't belive the price is 1.245 ? in Finland.

Just bought a f11 520d and the PKK is highly interesting in my country because the N47 engine here only has 163hk for tax reasons (tax reduced by approx. 3300 Euro) so the PKK pack for half that is great value. Trouble is the N47 PKK has so far only been released for manual cars. At least thats what I picked up at a german site. Hopefully BMW will release a PKK kit for the sport automatic soon.

But does it lift the yearly Finnish car tax? Fore sure it will rise the CO2 levels and therefore the tax,
if reported to Trafi (Finnish Transport Safety Agency).


PS. But Norway will loose agaist Finland next Thursday, unlike to Sweden...
