Has anybody reliable information about when the F10 will hit the showrooms in Europe? Specialized press here in Italy has wild different opinions, stating anything from spring 2008 up to fall 2009. I'm so happy with my car that I'm considering to lease a new one within a couple of months but don't want to sign a long term contract (usually 36 months) if I know for sure that the F10 will be out in a matter of few months. Please, look into your crystal ball and let me know.

It is not coming out in a few months...BMW model cycles run for a 7 year period. According to the chart below, the F10 will start production in the 1st Quarter of 2010, which in all likelihood means that it will be in European showrooms around that time (give or take a month or 2). Historically this means that the U.S. will see the car a few months after the European rollout.

Also consider if you want an early production car. The first year of production and especially the really early build dates are typically fraught with more problems.

Cars are SO complicated today you don't want the newest model. My best cars have been end of model run BMW's. An 03 E39 525i and an 06 E46 M3. In both cases those cars were the last years of the model runs.
I have an 05 545i now which is great car but the things that were fixed as part of the CPO process, meaning they were broken when the dealer got the car, would have annoyed the hell out of me if I bought the car new.

Thanks to all for the useful information. I've now made my mind: I'll go for a E60 or E61 (even longer life cycle) again and will change it in 2011 for a new F10/F11, hopefully well debugged by that time.
