I believe that F10 would look a lot like the current model with some improvements. Like it or not this is the trend. They take the predecessor they make it a little bit bigger and that's all, at the surface a least, because under the hood they usually change several things. Take the new MINI for example. I don't see anything wrong with these pictures but BMW has to pay attention to quality, reliability, and more efficient engines.
I dont see were your getting your conclusion from....Maybe other auto makers do this but not BMW. For example in what way does the current E60 look like the previous E39? IMO it will look nothing like the current E60 or this mock up of E60/E90 and will blow us all away...

Its a poor photoshop rendition. The headlights are different sizes/shape, plus the hood doesn't fully come across the left side.
Front spoiler is pre-makeover ('04-'07).

That's a new Bangle design element. I think you will see that on all future BMW's.
