It looks more like BMW would introduce a 5-series Coup? (like Mercedes has its CLS).

But certainly not my taste.

The ONLY thing we have learned from looking at those pictures is what the F10 won't look like.
I'm afraid, it will look like that.

Not bad at all

I love it, but just as KU530 demonstrated, there are plenty of 5 buyers demanding a certain regal qualty that seperates it from the 3. As for me, the sportier looking the better. Hands down the best car in the BMW lineup is and has always been the 3. Its the purest expression of the BMW promise.... build a car as sporty and compact (1st priority) as possible while still practical (2nd priority). Somewhere in the last ten years that has been dilluted to "as well built as a Merc but more sporty" There is a huge difference between these two. The Five has always been a blend. The current product is great. Edgy but still elegant. Notice the competition has caught up thhough. Bring on the flame styling and 20 inch OEM wheels....

Then they are still playing. No speculation until 4 months before final production.

No, the design of the car is pretty much ready now. There won't be changes the last two years due to extensive testing. But as noone has actually seen the car, they have the same oral information but interpret it differently. So, yes, the car won't look like the ones on the pics, but the styling element will be there alright.

I like this design, although I agree it's a little too much like a 3? It doesn't quite have the kind of presence I would want in a 5. I would retain the sharper lines this F10 appears to have versus the e60 but proportionally expand the dimensions a bit, a few percentages bigger. I'd like to see the most muscular look possible without steroids. Any ideas if its a one or two year delay for the F10 M5? Wouldn't mind seeing 600 horses on it.

I like it alot but not coming from the current configuration of the 5 series. If they would have come up with that from the old e39 body then that would have been a logical progression. Although it's beautiful its too much like a 3 series and we would Iwould feel robbed

I like the latter version much more than the former.
