Buying a high mileage E60, HELP!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi guys,
I need help, I have just sold my 1 series 2006 because i needed something bigger and better. I was looking for a E60 5 series M sport with £8,000 to spend and it had to have the right extras. I have come across a nice example it's done 145,000 miles and has all the extras I desire. It is a 530i M sport, it comes with 19inch spider wheels, full electric memory seats, headlight cleaning system, xenon lights, adaptives headlights, cruise control with brake function, professional sat nav, M spoiler & most importantly full BMW service history. Now the big question should I say no because of the mileage, I am used to low mileage cars & do not drive much, my last car I did 25,000 miles in 4 and a half years. Could I have your views please. , |
It still has a lot of good miles in it. Most things go south around 80-100 miles, and having the history you should be able to tell if everything has been fixed. I am at 96000 and my last BMW went 190000 before I needed more room for the baby.

Just be careful. Make sure everything checks out and he has history reports of maintenance and so on. Also take it to a 3rd party mechanic to have everything looked over.

i recently purchased my 545i with 139k miles from a co-worker and the only reason he sold it was because he is retiring soon and wanted to upgrade to 09' 550. It has had 3/5 major issues addressed that tend to plague the 545i.
Make sure this thing has been taken care of before you buy it. |
I've just sold my E60 with 300,000 miles on the clock, one of the most reliable cars I have ever owned, which is why I went for the F10 as its replacement.

The N52 is an incredible motor. Listen to the motor carefully on a cold-start - as long as you don't hear rattling and if the tranny shifts smooth you should be good for some time.
