I'm picking up my 2011 CPO 550 with the M Sport package tomorrow and was wondering if the Maintenance Program Upgrade can be bought cheaper than the retail price of $2295? Is there another source to purchase this maintenance program other than the dealership or through BMW USA?

I've bought GM extended warranties for my trucks in the past from other dealerships that were discounting them, but I haven't seen anything for the BMW maintenance program.

BMW Warranty Packages are negotiable to the extent the selling dealer wants to give up on their margin. They may be "added" at any time while the current coverages are active. That said, it's a numbers game - pay the "Insurance" or gamble the odds that your out-of pocket" service costs will exceed the cost of the scheduled maintenance. Lastly, IMHO, the best negotiation leverage was when you were "closing the deal". Since you've signed papers and exchanged money I'd say the dealer has the better hand today! Or you could take the time to shop BMW stores for a better price - IF it makes sense for you.

Be careful, the extended warranty and extended maintenance packages are two different things. The maintenance only covers schedule maintenance such as oil changes, brakes etc. If you are a high mileage driver the maintenance may be worth it....

I realize that this is just for maintenance items, brakes, oil changes, microfilter changes, etc.

When I purchased the car today the finance guy tried to sell me this package for $3300 - I said, "I don't think so, BMW lists this on their website for $2295". He said, "Oh you saw that?"

What is with these people?

He was a tough nut, I only got him to knock off $100. I'm sure if I kept searching I could find it for less, but now I don't have to worry about it.

You can negotiate the price. i was quoted 1600 when i was buying the car and they dropped it to 950 since i told them I would walk away
