520D 525D or 530D?

Hello guys!

I am thinking about buyin a second hand 2k11 f10 5series.
The 520 has 163hp, 525 204hp, and the 530 256hp? if im not mistaken?
I have test driven the 520D and maaaan i like it alot but i feel It lacks power but it is hugely economic!
The 2 other engine variants 525D and 530D have about 40 hp&almost 100hp more!
Are there any f10 owners out there that can tell me the pros and cons?

Kind regards ;)

I have a 2011 525d (at this time they were six cylinder 3 litre) and before this a 2012 520d. The 525d is much smoother, quieter and acceleration more smooth. But the consumption is worse, around 6.7 and the 520d was giving 5.6. This is for the same route (50km to work) and average over a few weeks.
I'd be happy with the 520d but smoothness of the 525d is really nice. 530d would be too much power and worse fuel consumption so I would not get one of those, plus the insurance is probably higher still than 525d.
You do know that 525d changed engine from 3 litre 6 cyl to 2 litre 4 cyl in mid 2011?

BMW 520d F11 does have 184hp.

a 6 cylinder will be much smoother than a 4 but as already pointed out the fuel consumption goes up ....

If you like power maybe a 6 cylinder is the way to go

It may be worth checking what a remap can bring you - a remapped 520d or 525d may be the answer to economy and power when you want it

520d wipers issues

Well iv got the 07 520d and my wipers do like 5-10 wipes and just stop the wiper arm on the steering colume unresponsive for 5 min then they’ll work another 5-10 wipes iv changed relay but still the same. I took the relay plastic off the old one and pushed the contact thing together and they work so rules out dodgy motor any help would be great thanks
