As Chris Bangle said before he took over design, "they are making the same sausage in different lengths" With the F30 we could have the 3,5,7 looking very similar.

how the **** does this thread manage to make me want to get an F10 550 even more now?! ![Bashwall](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/bashwall.gif)
-by making me realize that given a choice between the F01 and the F10, I'd choose the F10
Oh well, I guess, when the time comes, I'll know what car I want... argh

Just beginning the negotiation process with my dealer on a new M3 to replace my 2008 550. Was exchanging emails with my SA when he replied that they had cars on the lot that he could offer a $10,000 discount. I jokingly asked it was an M5 to which he replied how about a 750Li! I declined but was curious if the sales of the 7 series are that weak because of the economy or because the F10 is cannibalizing
Interesting. A tradiational 7 series buyer (who ever that could be) should be rightfully pissed off. I've always viewed the 5 and 3 as the real BMW choices. No big knock on the 7 but boat lovers don't apprecate bimmer attributes. I'd say it's a badge effect more than anything. Again not to say the bimmer boat is nothing but the best in in the boat show.

The F10 might be a little heavy but it's not any bigger than most of its current competitors. Actually, the Audi A6 and Infiniti M are almost identical in length and width to the F10. So, yes, it's bigger than the E60 but not more so than the competition. I recently came from a 2009 Acura TL which is actually 2 inches longer than the F10 (if you can believe that), so the F10 doesn't feel big to me at all.
