Default 2011 550i Positive Jumper Terminal Hex Nut SMOKING!

Hey Fams, man I was I surprised to see smoke coming from under the hood, and to my chagrin, upon opening up the hood, saw the positive jumper terminal hex nut (pictured) smoking like a 4th of July bar-b-que! You probably can't see in the pic, but it was smoking underneath the hex nut, and it started burning the tape by time I caught it and turned off the engine. To be clear, it was burning from the hex nut towards the wire, and not the wire towards the nut....of course, the warranty 'lady' robitically repeated, 'we don't cover battery cables', which it DOESN'T seem to be the issue.....I see the recalls ended with the 2010's (in the trunk) and there are NO recalls for the 2011's under the hood (or in the trunk for that matter)...Surely, I can't be the ONLY dude that's had this issue....Does ANYONE have ANY ideal what's going on? I changed my battery at the beginning of the month, but haven't registered it yet....I've been getting the increased discharge (yellow light) battery not charging and the red Malfunction msg even before I changed the battery. I just bought the car in April of this year, btw.
