Default 2011 F10 Halogen Side LEDs

Just bought a 2011 528i with Halogen Headlights. Before everyone jumps on me I don't like the Halogens either. I will probably do an upgrade later. I have two questions. First shouldn't there be a front corner marker light on this car? On all my other vehicles I'm use to turning on the running lights and having at least two rear and two front lights illuminated. Right now on this vehicle I only have the rear lights with running lights truned on. Second what are the three small LEDs on the side of my Halogen Headlights? Are these the front corner markers? The lights are operating the same on both sides. The blinkers are working and there doesn't appear to be a second element in the bulb for a running light. I have read in other treads that the three LEDs are welcome lights or side lights for turning. I have the welcome lights turned on in idrive and I have never seen these lights turn on in the week that I have owned the car. I'm not sure that what I read about them being side turning lights is correct. I'm thinking I've got a module on each side that runs the LEDs that isn't working. Also let me know if you see anything else out of the ordinary with angel eyes or anything else.

All lights turned on.

DRL and running lights turned on.
