hi guys, has anyone tried the dog net from the x5 into the e61??

at the mo my net is in one piece with the rear cargo blind and the blind is in the way its a big dog see

have eyed up the x5 dog nets on ebay and they seem to have identical roof fixings, so if its easily retrofitted then i would rather have one of those.

any help much appreceated

I don't understand why you can't use the net which is built into the E61? I regularly transport my dog in the trunk, by simply fitting the net in place so she can't get past. I'm probably missing something.

I have the same problem.........I have a deerhound. She gets her head around the sides of the cargo net and tends to dribble on the rear seat passengers during long journeys!

It looks to me that the X5 dog guard won't work. There is an OEM one for the E61 - although it's very pricey (about ?250 in the UK). I can't seem to find a picture of it anywhere though. I know that BMW call it a "Cargo Partition" however..... It's all metal and appears to just fill the space between the tops of the rear seats and the roof liner. Clips into the same mounts as the cargo net, but i don't know how it attaches to the rear seats.

When I bought the car, I thought I'd see how it went with the cargo net/loadspace cover thing, but i think I need to take it out and get the cargo partition - as you say, it eats up some of the boot space.

yep that blind does take up some space, i have an alaskan malamute so takes up most of the bootspace

with the net on its own it would be ideal but its the rear blind that causes the trouble, i dont fancy one of those large steel ones from halfords either that steel mesh from bmw sounds good but at ?150 is rather steep, i just wanted to know if the blind at the rear of the x5 would fim an e61 then i could work something out.

What I'm missing is that my dog is relatively small and hasn't decided to put her head through the gap. Yet
