Hi Peeps
I have a 525i Tourer with 124 Style 18" Wheels which had RFT,s on , I have ditched those now in favour of the 245 x 40 Michelin Pilot Sport Tyres , My Question is " will a Full size wheel with tyre fit in the Space under the rear floor once the Plastic Compartment Tray is removed," I have rang several main dealers here in the UK and they couldnt tell me,
Your help woul be much appreciated

From what my U.S. spec e60 is like, I'd say that to fit a full size spare you'll need to somehow safely raise the height of the cover. In my car, the spare is a "doughnut" and it fits under the cover fine, but when I've put full size wheels there, the cover would not close.
Perhaps, also your particular car's production year, model and packaging make a difference, as some (again, at least in the U.S.) came with spares, while others did not, and so on.

I would say no, but get out the tape measure and see if it will fit.
Of course a cheaper alternative is to get the BMW Mobility Kit and not worry about lugging around a heavy spare.
I have used my mobility kit three times in the last 24 hours... It works great!

my 525d uses 17 50 225 wheels and tyres. Managed to get a full size spare that matched those on the car. They're runflats but didn't want to risk a space saver when towing the caravan. After several attempts I've found that the full size wheel will NOT fit
bmw have put a plastic housing for electrics in the upper part of the wheel well and put more electrics at the bottom of the wheel well. the spare now sits in the garage

what do you mean you've used it 3 times? you had 3 different leaks? the 1st leak never sealed and you had to reseal it 2 more times? it's not making sense, please explain
It took two days for a new wheel to be delivered to my dealership, so I used the mobility kit to re-inflate the tire every time I left the house.
I did not use the tire mousse since the tire was fine.
Anyway, I have also used the mobility kit to inflate a wheel barrow tire, an American Football and my son's bicycle tire.

Patrick, thanks, now I understand. I just couldn't figure out how you were applying the tire goo 3 times. I can see a book, 101 uses for the Mobility Kit
