My Ride: 2003 Red BMW 325i Sport Wagon
2004 Yellow Porsche GT3
Hello everyone, I am new to this forum so please forgive me if this is redundant. But here's my situation...I currently own a 325i Sport Wagon, and my lease runs out in a few months. I LOVE this car, but would like to upgrade to the E61. Now, of course, the only model available in the US is the 530xiT, but I guess that's better than a MiniVan, SUV, or Mercedes/Audi Wagon.....I have previously owned two M5s and loved those (not crazy about the new one with SMG only).
So now to my point....I would like the car to look very aggresive, but not too pimped. I have read many of the posts here, and have not really seen what I was looking for. So here are my questions:
* Will I like the new 530xiT compared to my 325i Sport Wagon (sports package) ?
* I would like a wheel staggered setup on the new wagon, but I've read conflicting reports. Ideally I would like the Style 124 Wheel with 8x18 in front and 9.5x18 in back, but I read that this is not offered on the wagon...why! Yes, I've seen many posts, but is there anyone on this board that has actually done this? I've also read that wheel spacers might solve the problem....maybe 10mm in front, and 15mm spacers in back?
* Any thoughts on spacers? Rogue Engineering vs. Eibach vs. H&R ?
* My favorite wheels are here http://www.racmonolites.com , I like the RG4's the best, 19 inch. Does anyone have a similar wheel that will fit the E61? Something like the BBS CH?
* Is there a difference between E60 and E61 wheels wheel setups?
* Is there a difference between E61 and E61 x-drive wheel setups?
I'm looking for people who have actually done this, please help. Please tell me your actual setup and how its worked for you. Thanks so much!

hi, i just came back from Europe where i picked up my 530xiT
(for pictures see http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho....php?t=100629)
This is a replacement for a 2002 325xiT, my impressions after driving it for several days in Europe;
Even the 530 is a bigger car, you would know this from driving it, it handles better than the 325. If you like the 325, you will love the 530!!
The wheels i have are the standard 17" wheels. I believe they come standard on all 525/530.

Hi mbforme,
Finally someone responds! First, Congratulations on a beautiful car, I'm jealous....I'm assuming you're in the US? Did you purchase the car European Delivery? What options? 5-Speed Manual? Did you pay MSRP?
Our current 325i Sport Wagon has the Sport Package (suspension, wheels, seats, etc.) and 5-Speed manual transmission. How will that package compare with the 530?
My lease runs out soon, I need to make a decision. Impossible to get a test ride in a manual at the local dealer, especially not in a wagon
Anything you have to tell, please let me know. I'm also considering ED (my parents live in Germany).
Anyone...what's up with the wheels? I would love to do Style 124 or Style 135M with the following sizes:
8x18 245/45 in the front (with 8mm spacers)
9.5x18 275/25 in the rear (with 15mm spacers)
Is this the best setup? Anybody with similar experiences? Which spacers are best quality and look best? I've never used spacers, but I think I have to use them to get the wheel to fit, is this true?

yes, I did the European Delivery (i live in California).
The 325xiT this car replaces had every available option, exept the automatic transmission!! The sport package of the AWD version of the 325 does not come with sport suspension, so i don't know how it drives with this.
For the 530xiT, i ordered it again with a manual and it's fantastic, it has the same sporty feeling of the 325xiT except quite a bit faster! I see your point of getting a test drive in a 5 with a stick... it's basically impossible, i tried the same.. no dealer has one on the lot . I think you are going to be very happy with a 530xiT!
Send me a private email and i'll tell you about i paid.
The only thing i wish i could change is the wheels, probably after the tires wear out, i'll replace the wheels.

Wow Pascal, looks fantastic. What are your specifications?
Wheel sizes, offsets?
Wheel spacers?
Thanks!
